Online Recommendation for the 2025 Sooner Works Summer Academy

Thank you for taking the time to complete a recommendation for a student applying to the Sooner Works Summer Academy, hosted by the University of Oklahoma.

Sooner Works is an inclusive postsecondary program for students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who are motivated to grow in independence, self-determination, and career readiness. The Summer Academy, held June 16–20, 2025, is a one-week, residential experience for high school students with ID/DD who are interested in exploring college life and preparing for life after high school.

Throughout the week, students will participate in hands-on workshops focused on:

1. Career exploration

2. Work-based readiness

3. Postsecondary education opportunities

4. Self-determination

5. Independent living

To ensure the Summer Academy is a good fit, we ask each applicant to submit two recommendation forms. Your honest and thoughtful responses are a critical part of our review process and help us ensure we can provide the right level of support to each student.
